What is it?
A half marathon is an on road running race with a distance of 13.1 miles.
The 2024 Healthy Body PT Lake Norman Half Marathon series of the four of the best half marathons held exclusively in the beautiful Lake Norman area, near Charlotte, NC. “Lake Norman area” consists for multiple towns on Lake Norman – towns that include Hickory, Statesville, Troutman, Mooresville, Cornelius, Denver, Davidson, Huntersville and Charlotte.
The races are spread out from March until December giving athletes a chance to race in their “strong” season.
Series winners accrue the highest number of points across any three of the four races, the top 3 males and top 3 females earn $300 each and the top 10 receive awards.
There are a variety of 5K races in Mooresville, Huntersville, Davidson, Denver, Charlotte, Statesville, Troutman, Cornelius and other Lake Norman areas but the Half Marathon races are few and far between.
In addition to Lake Norman festivals and water fun we can now promote that Lake Norman boasts a Half Marathon Series!
How does it work?
Points are generated by finishing the half marathon.
Athletes get the number of points equal to their finish (as compared to the number of athletes who finish the race).
For example: you race in the Lake Norman Half Marathon Wildman and there are 100 people registered for the half marathon.
You show up, race and finish fourth overall.
You would score 97 series points.
First place earns 100 points
Second place earns99 points
Third place earns 98 points
Fourth place earns 97 points
And so on until the last place finisher earns 1 point
To be eligible for the Lake Norman Half Marathon series you must finish at least three of the four half marathons.

All series prizes and awards will be given out at Lake Norman Half Marathon Elf Classic & 5K in December. Athletes need to be in attendance to receive their awards.

How do I register?
Athletes don’t need to register for the series. All half marathoners who complete 3 of the 4 half marathons listed above will be automatically counted in the series.
