The 8th Annual Lean30 Lake Norman Half Marathon Forest Run & 5K is one of the most beautiful and brutal venues in North Carolina and South Carolina. All courses run over asphalt roads winding and undulating under a green canopy of trees! The half marathon and the 5K both run on Saturday morning.

2:00 pm – Packet pick up closes
Saturday – race day (Half Marathon & 5K)
6:30 am – registration / packet pick up opens at the Lake Norman State Park beach parking lot.
7:30 am – Half Marathon start
7:35 am – 5K start

Beneficiary
Human Health Project is an organization issues grants and donates non-perishable food items to local food shelters. We ask all athletes to bring a non-perishable food item.

Additional Details
- Half Marathoners need to be able to finish by 11am (3.5 hours) due to traffic congestion.
- Both courses are on asphalt road – no off road.
- Strollers start in the back of the 5K.
- Toddlers under 4 can / walk with parents for free.
- No pets, firearms or alcohol permitted.
- Run single file on all public roads.
- Racers must maintain single file at all times.

When is the Lake Norman Forest Run?
Saturday, June 5, 2027. The half marathon starts at 7:30am and the 5K at 7:35am.
Where is the Forest Run?
Inside Lake Norman State Park in Troutman, NC. The race starts and finishes at the Lake Norman picnic ground.
Is the Forest Run a trail race?
No. Both courses run on paved roads that wind under the trees of the state park. The half marathon course is two loops.
When is packet pickup for the Forest Run?
Friday before the race from 12pm to 2pm at Charlotte Running Company, 146 Mooresville Commons Way, Mooresville, and race morning from 6:30am at the park’s beach parking lot.
What are the Forest Run awards?
Half marathon: top 3 men and women overall plus top 3 in each age group. 5K: top 10 men and top 10 women overall.
Is there a virtual Forest Run?
Yes. Run any distance, and the medal, shirt and swag ship the Monday after the race.
